Equity Team
Equity Advisor
The Equity Advisor is an independent role that reports to the Master of Public Policy Student Association (MPPSA) and also works with the broader Public Policy community at the Munk School.
This includes soliciting feedback, consulting with students on the representation of issues and backgrounds at the School and student events and providing feedback to the administration or student representatives when sought or appropriate. Students are encouraged to provide feedback, voice their concerns or have informal discussions with the Equity Advisor where personal information will be protected.
Equity Committee
The MPPSA Equity Committee supports the work of the Equity Advisor by creating space for student input, collaboration, and accountability on equity and accessibility. The committee is made up of MPP students who volunteer their time to help advance the MPPSA’s commitment to building an inclusive and supportive community.
Responsibilities
The Equity Advisor and Equity Committee:
Liaise between the student body and the MPPSA on matters of equity and accessibility.
Gather and present constructive feedback on barriers students face.
Direct students toward appropriate equity and accessibility services at the University of Toronto.
Host a Town Hall to hear official feedback on equity concerns.
Produce an annual Equity Report tracking the MPPSA’s progress in promoting equity and accessibility.
The Equity Team helps ensure that equity, accessibility, and inclusion are not just principles, but practices embedded in all aspects of MPPSA’s work.
